If you’re looking for Dental VENEERS in the LIVERPOOL area then find out the procedure first

Getting a dental veneer fitted by a qualified cosmetic dentist would usually require roughly three trips to the dentist. The first would be for a consultation, the second to make the mould and prepare your teeth. The third would then be to apply the veneers. One, two or more of your teeth can simultaneously undergo the veneering process so if you’re looking for Dental Veneers in Liverpool area then look no further than Khan Dental. Here their qualified dentist Dr Khan explains the procedure in full.

Diagnosis and planning

This first step involves your very active participation. Here you would explain to your dentist the result that you are ideally looking to achieve. During this first appointment your teeth will be examined to make sure dental veneers would be appropriate for you and discuss the entire procedure in full including some of its limitations as to what it can’t help.

Preparation

Preparation will take place on your second visit. By this time dental veneers will have been agreed as the correct treatment to go forward with so preparation for the porcelain cover will take place. This consists of around half a millimetre of enamel being removed from the tooth’s surface. This is roughly equal to the thickness of the veneer that’s going to eventually be added. Before this takes place however you will be able to discuss with your dentist whether you’d like this to be done under a local anaesthetic in order to numb the area and cause minimal discomfort. Once each tooth undergoing the treatment has been prepared, a mould of your teeth will be taken. It’s this mould that’s used to make your custom made veneers. This can take anywhere between two to three weeks for them to be made and sent back to your dentist. For teeth that are very unsightly however you can ask for temporary veneers though please take into consideration that this will obviously be at extra cost.

Bonding

This is the last and final visit bar a regular check up once you’ve been wearing them for some time. During this final visit your personal veneers will be placed temporarily onto your teeth so that your dentist can check their look and feel. Once they’re happy your tooth will be prepared to receive the veneer. This involves cleaning, polishing and etching (roughing up the surface) before the veneer is cemented on permanently. Once they are in place a special light will be applied which will harden and cure the cement. You could also look at the possibility of TEETH WHITENING, which is available at the Khan Dental clinic in LIVERPOOL too.
